NYRS® enrollment criteria:

  • Must be recommended by a Manager
  • Must be an Associate Broker
  • Must have worked in residential real estate in NYC for a minimum of five years
  • Must have closed a minimum of 50 transactions valued at a minimum of $50 million in sales or a minimum of $17 million in gross rentals

NYRS® designation series:

  • The curriculum consists of course work totaling 27 hours -- of which 24 hours are approved by New York State and can be applied towards Continuing Education credit.
  • Classes are held at REBNY® headquarters at 570 Lexington Avenue
  • Classes are generally Monday evenings from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
  • The designation series is offered twice annually with a Fall and Spring semester.
  • Tuition is $495 and includes the cost of books and a light supper.
  • Seats are limited.
  • Associate Brokers who complete all the sessions are awarded the NYRS® designation and may use the logo on business cards and marketing materials.

In the year following graduation, agents are charged annual dues of $75 to defray operating expenses which include branding, public relations and website costs.

CREDENTIAL RENEWAL

CREDENTIAL RENEWAL

    To maintain the NYRS® credential, agents must complete an approved 3 hour class once every two years after graduation. Graduates may enroll in either a specific Credential Renewal course or register for any class from the NYRS® designation series. The cost for these Credential Renewal classes is $75.

The Annual Holiday Party is hosted at the spectacular Cadillac House at 330 Hudson Street. This black tie affair is where the NYRS® community is able to dance, mingle, enjoy some great food and drinks, and celebrate another wonderful year for all New York Residential Specialists. This event is dedicated to our sponsors who help carry this organization to great heights.

The state of the NYC new development condominium market, the importance of working in tandem with and relying on the expertise of the on-site sales teams, the value of data and research during the sales process, commercial financing, and the impact of the arrival of the millennial generation on the ever-changing real estate market.

NYRS® and our gracious sponsors invite about a dozen agents for an intimate evening to eat, drink and talk real estate. These dinners are held monthly at designated locations throughout the city. Some of our headlining guests include, but are not limited to, Hines Managing Director Tommy Craig, condo guru Orest Tomaselli, and architect Edward Yedid.

Our networking events allow NYRS® members to take a break from the real estate world and enjoy some fun cocktails and small bites. The selection of venue for these events is aimed to target different hot spots throughout New York City. Select sponsors host these events and love to meet and interact with our members.

New Development Roundtable

New Development Roundtable

Our dedicated sponsor Bank of America hosts one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year, our New Development Roundtable. Held from the private top floor of 1 Bryant Park, guests meet in small groups with each developer and have intimate face-to-face interaction. The selected NYC developers cover topics such as the coming new development inventory, their perspective on the current state of the market, and expected trends in the next wave of development.

Master Series

Master Series

NYRS® members have the opportunity to attend salon style chats, panel discussions, and round robin events. Panel discusses have covered all topics relating to renovating a townhouse, from financing to the actual construction process. Another panel discussed the inside secrets of global investors, covering topics such as the EB-5 program, the new Treasury Department Policy, future implications of working with foreign buyers, and more.
